The Human Resources Partner is the first point of contact for a designated group of people managers, who manage both unionized and non-unionized groups. The incumbent supports departments and faculties in the day-to-day delivery, coordination and administration of HR activities and programs. This includes people and performance management; labour and employee relations; the application of policies and procedures; support for employee engagement and organization effectiveness, with a goal of establishing empowered environments that are able to meet employee and operational objectives.
Role accountability extends to analyzing practices and programs, recommending solutions and working with department and faculty leaders to effect change. The ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, mediate between conflicting stakeholders and serves as a liaison between faculties, departments and related stakeholders is a fundamental role requirement.
