Bring your Human Resources (HR) knowledge and your analytical skills to this HR Business Partner position.

As a member of the Leadership and Culture team, you will work closely with the senior management team, providing HR advice and guidance to assist and influence informed and risk-balanced decision making on a diverse range of HR functions, including succession management, coaching and leadership development performance management as well a talent rotations and acquisition.

How You Will Be Contributing

  • Collaborating with senior management to plan and execute leadership rotations and/or leadership cross-sector realignments, ensuring alignment with succession and development programs.
  • Planning and executing the succession management program for CMHC’s senior management community, including supporting individual development and corporate leadership capabilities.
  • Providing coaching to various leaders including senior management.
  • Contributing to the implementation of HR initiatives by participating in teams in reviewing process improvements, systems initiatives, current policies and identifying operational issues and recommending changes.
  • Interpreting HR policies and guidelines for people leaders to enable decision-making.
  • Ensuring corporate HR strategic priorities are implemented; identify HR issues and concerns arising from business plans and/or operations
  • Analyzing HR issues and concerns, plans and recommend strategies and options for resolution and supports management in the implementation of the resolutions, considering possible consequences and impacts.
  • Supporting the implementation of corporate change initiatives.
  • Preparing, implementing and analysing HR reports by determining needs, assessing progress in relation to Corporate and Legislative objectives and recommending changes to help support business objectives.
  • Delivering presentations and facilitate discussion on relevant HR topics for senior management.
  • Contributing to the preparation of presentations for the Executive and Management committees as well as CMHC’s Board of Directors.

What We Are Looking For

  • A commitment to demonstrating CMHC values.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in the area of Human Resources, Business Administration, psychology, industrial relations or related area with a minimum 5 years related experience. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice and guidance to all levels of staff on a variety of HR topics.
  • Demonstrated experience in succession and performance management.
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Human Resources Management policies, practices, theories, concepts and systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment law and regulations, legislative issues and industry trends relating to Human Resources.
  • Professional Human Resources designation is an asset (such as CHRP, CHRL, CHRE or CRHA).
  • Knowledge of CMHC's business, mandate and objectives an asset.
