The Universal Group has an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Specialist to join our Universal Personnel team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Recruitment Specialist partners with management to drive forward our purpose of providing Peace of Mind to our clients and our employees. The Role

The Recruiter will work collaboratively in a full cycle recruitment process; post positions, screen resumes and candidates, schedule interviews/orientations, coordinate and deliver onboarding, maintain employee files, etc.

This position is dynamic and requires a devoted, passionate and driven individual who is fueled by challenge and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. The potential is great for advancement or lateral movement between the many different divisions within Universal Group.

Please note: this is a temporary position for maternity leave coverage.


  • Manage all aspects of full-time recruitment: from sourcing, drafting, screening candidates, evaluating resumes, placing candidates with our clients
  • Post job advertisements across many different job boards/platforms
  • Strategizing and collaborating to improve the recruitment process
  • Onboard new hires into our HRIS to complete new hire forms and training
  • Source and attend job fairs and recruitment events to increase brand awareness

Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years of full cycle recruiting experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Detail orientated and committed to quality
  • Self motivated and proactive
  • Experience within the construction industry considered an asset
  • Experience with HRIS/ ATS (we use BambooHR) network
