Our growing People and Culture (P&C) team is at the forefront of people enabling performance. The P&C Business Partner will be an integral member of the P&C team and a strategic partner to the business on all things people. Reporting to the Director of People, North America, you’ll know the business inside and out - adapting and interpreting P&C process for your business team and relaying feedback on processes to the subject matter experts.



What You Will Be Doing


  • Conduct regular meetings with respective business units to understand their P&C needs, and partner with teams and leaders to design and implement best-in-class solutions to meet and exceed those needs
  • Consult with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the P&C group to drive the design, implementation and continuous improvement of P&C solutions, programs and policies. Provide strategic guidance and interpretation support to line managers to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Collaborate with P&Cs subject matter experts to tailor people programs to their business unit
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations and drive resolution as appropriate
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Train, educate and provide guidance to line managers to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Partner with the legal department as needed/required
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line managers, inclusive of coaching, organizational design, promotions,, career development, and disciplinary actions
  • Collaborate with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Identify training needs for business units, and partner with training experts across the organization to design and implement new training programs to meet business needs. Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met

About You

  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience handling complex employee experience issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
  • Have a bias for action and a growth mindset
  • Are eager to learn and grow—you’ve likely had some post-secondary education or have equivalent professional experience in a similar role, and you continue to seek opportunities to level up your skills
  • Have previous experience working at a startup or tech company during a high growth stage
  • A strong connection to the business - if it doesn’t work for them, it doesn’t work for HR
  • Seek opportunities to brainstorm or collaborate with others to solve challenging problems
  • Know when to ask for help or escalate issues. You’re the kind of person who can learn from mistakes
  • Team-oriented —you are comfortable working collaboratively and communicating effectively across departments
