The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority's Human Resources department is looking for a Manager, Compensation & Workforce Planning to oversee their exempt and unionized compensation and benefits program, workforce planning and development, and job evaluation. This position will facilitate a collaborative working relationship with exempt and union leadership on all workplace matters. The position is responsible for pay and benefits research, and compliance with pay related legislation, such as human rights and pay equity, and with stated goals for diversity and inclusion.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Organizational Development, and joining a talented and motivated team, the successful candidate will:
As the ideal candidate, you have an appropriate university degree along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, at a management level, in leading compensation reviews, job evaluation, and workforce planning, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Must have extensive experience leading compensation and benefits programs, plus an excellent understanding of job evaluation and job analysis systems. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with unionized workforces. CHRP designation preferred. The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid Marine Transportation Security Clearance as defined by the Marine Transportation Security Regulations.
You are a consummate professional with a history of successful collaborations, including with exempt and union leadership. You are self-aware, approachable and sensitive to a variety of perspectives. Your outstanding leadership and oral and written communication skills, combined with your collaborative approach, mean you are known for your practical and flexible approach to problem solving. You are a strategic thinker with the ability to foster the development of staff.
