New and exciting things are in the works at Elements Casino Surrey! We are currently looking for a team player to join Elements Casino Surrey in the Coordinator, Human Resources role. In this role you will be responsible for a range of duties enabling the HR department to deliver best practices and strategic HR solutions that support our business. The successful candidate will be an ambassador in support of operational service excellence and will motivate and lead by example in a dynamic and fast-paced learning environment. Our Coordinator, Human Resources will work closely with the HR and management team, and will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process, assisting with organizational training and the development of team members, supporting team member engagement initiatives, and managing administrative and compliance requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting phone-screens, scheduling and conducting interviews, and coordinating reference and background checks for designated department groups;
  • Maintain employee records and files, including collecting and processing paperwork for new hires, transfers and promotions;
  • Enters and maintains respective site JDE HRIS duties; new team member entries, current team member changes, compliance tracking and running reports;
  • Processes HR paperwork and maintains site files;
  • Processes voluntary terminations and Performance Improvement/Skills Improvement Reports;
  • Participates in the Orientation process, including site tours;
  • Creates and compiles content for the Elements Newsletter;
  • Maintains lists of regulatory and compliance requirements;
  • Responds to employment verification requests;
  • Provides HR advice and support to all team members and site managers;
  • Prepares internal correspondence and communications as directed;
  • Coordinates and helps drive the site GEM and UPs program;
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments and key stakeholders;
  • Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
  • Provides support and coverage for other members of the HR team when required;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of experience in Human Resources or Recruitment and a university degree or diploma in a relevant discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is an asset;
  • Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through leading by example and by providing timely, effective and service oriented support;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality; mediation and conflict management/resolution experience is preferred;
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify key information and issues, interpret data and determine implications, provide recommendations, and effectively resolve;
  • Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Superior ability to communicate effectively;
  • Strong work ethics and professionalism;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask;
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development;
  • Serving it Right Certificate or ability to obtain it;
  • The ability to obtain/maintain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB).
