The Opportunity


We are currently looking to hire a Training & Development Coordinator in Edmonton, AB. This opportunity will be a Full-Time Permanent position. You’ll get to work with a growing organization where you will gain valuable experience in the field of home care.



What You'll Do


You will support the organization through:

  • Provide new hire orientation with established materials, bi-weekly or as needed.
  • Lead required training for Service Delivery staff according to the Annual Training Plan
  • Assist in developing training materials based on program needs, funder, and accreditation requirements that support both in-person and virtual sessions
  • Assist in developing competency-based testing formats for training sessions
  • Research external training opportunities that support the Annual Training Plan
  • Coordinate the training schedule to include both internal and external training sessions
  • Record attendance and testing scores for all training provided to Service Delivery staff
  • Maintain Employee Training Records
  • Review the Annual Training Plan to ensure conformance with accreditation standards and funder expectations
  • Conduct Quarterly Reviews of training evaluations and make recommendations
  • Other duties as needed



Who You Are


You have 1-3 years of progressive training & development experience. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a changing and flexible work environment. You are a self-starter, enjoy working in a collaborative and team-based environment, and are driven to produce exceptional results in a growing business.


You possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Residential programming/direct service (Group Care, Foster Care, etc)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of coordinating training projects/sessions (developing, providing training, evaluating)
  • Knowledge of the accreditation process and expectations of CARF
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, including CFSEA, PSECA, PCHAD, YCJA, PIPA, FOIP, etc
  • Ability to review data for completeness and accuracy
  • Ability to organize data logically, identify trends/patterns and make recommendations
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented


        Specialized knowledge of training compentencies in the following is considered an important asset:

        • Ethical Practise
        • Medication Management
        • Critical Incident Identification and Reporting
        • Health & Safety
