Cenovus’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) group is currently looking for an accomplished Sr Advisor, Category Management, to join the team specializing in Waste Fluid Handling & Trucking.

You will be responsible for providing SCM support for Cenovus through a centralized Category-based approach. You have both excellent business analysis capabilities and demonstrable success deploying SCM procedures and best practices. Self-motivated with an ability to lower the total cost of ownership and manage risk are the hallmarks of your career to date. This position is a permanent full-time opportunity located in our downtown Calgary office.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and manage products and services for assigned categories
  • Maintain responsibility for all SCM activities specifically relating to Waste Fluid Handling & Trucking
  • Develop enterprise category strategies in partnership with budget owners and alignment with overall Cenovus objectives
  • Assessment of risk and the use of associated decision mechanisms
  • Leverage spend data, external market data and other necessary information to inform category strategies
  • Lead negotiations with critical suppliers
  • Form, implement and manage commercial agreements
  • Develop and manage relevant key performance indicators and other results-based metrics into commercial agreements
  • Lower the total cost of ownership within the category, and identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Manage critical supply relationships at the enterprise level

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • At least eight years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Category Management, Agreement Management and Supplier Relationship Management
  • A clear understanding of Canadian Bid Law
  • Post-secondary education is preferred
  • SCMP or similar designation is preferred
  • A high degree of financial acumen including the knowledge of supplier cost drivers and pricing models
  • Experience managing commercial agreements
  • Availability to undertake periodic field travel requiring the operation of a Cenovus owned or rented vehicle may be required
