August 26, 2026 STUDENT RECRUITMENT OFFICER (BAND LEVEL 7) Grenfell Campus Office of Student Recruitment (Contractual Position to August 27, 2027) The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a secondment, subject to departmental approval DUTIES Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment, the Student Recruitment Officer will be responsible for carrying out the Institution's student recruitment and admission activities as identified in the strategic plan. As part of the recruitment team, duties will include building and maintaining relationships with prospective and newly admitted students and key influencers; developing, implementing, and evaluating recruitment initiatives; developing and presenting information about the University to local, national, and international audiences; communicating with newly admitted students during the post-offer admission period to ensure students follow through with registration and successfully transition to university; adapting communication strategies to current trends and effectively engaging diverse target audiences through digital, social, and traditional communication channels; working closely with various departments across the University; and performing other related duties as required. This position requires extensive travel and public appearances and may include international travel. Qualifications Experience (1-3 years) working with students in a post-secondary setting, preferably with a focus on student support services, recruitment, and admissions; graduation with a university degree is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Exceptional organizational, communication, and planning skills, leadership qualities, and interpersonal and public speaking skills are essential. The successful candidate will be required to acknowledge the requirement for transportation for business purposes, which will typically be in the form of possessing a valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The position requires the ability to perform some heavy lifting. Knowledge of the post-secondary education experience and Memorial University programs is preferred.
