Job summary

Position: Permanent Work environment: Remote Location: Canada (Calgary preferred) Salary: $70,000–$110,000 CAD base + uncapped commission Position Overview Hammehr invites applications for the role of Senior Recruitment Account Manager for a full-time permanent opportunity. We are a boutique Canadian technology recruitment and staffing firm. This position adds a senior person who can bring in new clients, grow existing relationships, and stay involved while recruiters deliver the search. Hammehr primarily pursues organizations where its recruitment model is likely to solve a meaningful hiring problem, with particular emphasis on established technology companies and technology-dependent organizations. That means understanding whether a prospective client has a credible hiring need, access to decision-makers, workable expectations, and a realistic path toward engaging external recruitment support. The position suits someone who wants to remain close to the substance of recruitment rather than functioning only as a salesperson. Client conversations often involve clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions, identifying decision risks, and giving recruiters enough context to conduct a focused search. What You’ll Do Build new client relationships through targeted outreach, referrals, networking, warm introductions, and consistent follow-up Decide which prospective opportunities warrant further attention by clarifying the hiring problem, urgency, budget, decision-makers, timing, and whether the client is realistically prepared to use external recruitment support Lead intake conversations that clarify what the person being hired needs to accomplish, which requirements actually matter, how candidates will be evaluated, and how the client intends to make a decision Partner with recruiters on search strategy, candidate calibration, client updates, interviews, offer discussions, and post-placement follow-up Identify when unclear requirements, changing expectations, delayed feedback, or an uncertain decision process could interfere with a search, then work with the client and recruiter to clarify what happens next Grow existing accounts through repeat searches, referrals, and additional relationships where there is a genuine hiring need Keep CRM records current enough that other team members can understand the client history, commitments, risks, next steps, and active opportunities Share useful client and market information with recruiters and founders when it changes how a search, account, or prospective opportunity should be approached Basic Qualifications 5+ years of recent experience in a recruitment agency, staffing agency, or executive search firm, including responsibility for bringing in new clients or growing existing accounts Recent experience managing recruitment or staffing client relationships beyond first-contact prospecting Experience working directly with recruiters or delivery teams through intake, search execution, candidate presentation, interviews, offers, or placement Experience leading client conversations about hiring requirements, budgets, timelines, decision-makers, evaluation criteria, and search expectations Experience setting realistic expectations with clients, including pushing back when a request, timeline, or commitment cannot reasonably be delivered Preferred Qualifications Technology recruitment, IT staffing, or digital transformation recruitment experience An established client network in Calgary, Alberta, or Western Canada Full-cycle or 360 recruitment experience involving both client development and candidate delivery Experience with permanent recruitment, contract staffing, or both Experience turning an initial client relationship into repeat searches, referrals, or a broader account relationship The Challenges Meetings and pipeline are not useful on their own. Part of the job is deciding which companies have a real hiring need worth pursuing and which opportunities are unlikely to become productive client relationships Business development and recruitment delivery compete for attention. New opportunities still need to move forward while active clients and recruiters receive the information and follow-up they need Clients will not always begin with a fully defined role or a clear way of evaluating candidates. You may need to clarify what actually matters before recruiters spend significant time searching, without making the hiring process more complicated than necessary Your Impact The team spends less time pursuing companies that are unlikely to hire and more time with employers that have a real need Hammehr can help solve Recruiters begin searches with clearer requirements, decision-makers, timelines, evaluation criteria, and client expectations, reducing avoidable rework and candidate misalignment Clients are more likely to return because the person who developed the relationship remains involved when the recruiting work begins and understands what happened throughout the search
