Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Contract) Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid) Contract Length: 3–6 Month Contract with Potential Extension Compensation: $48.08–$52.88/hour (Based on Experience) About the Opportunity Fuze HR Solutions is recruiting a Senior Human Resources Business Partner on behalf of a growing organization seeking experienced HR leadership support during a temporary leave of absence. This is a hands-on HR leadership opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building structure, improving processes, supporting leaders, and enhancing employee engagement within a dynamic and evolving environment. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders while helping stabilize HR operations, strengthen compliance practices, support employee relations, and contribute to ongoing organizational improvement initiatives. Work Arrangement Hybrid work environment Minimum one day per week in-office Standard business hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Reporting to HR leaders located in both Eastern and Pacific time zones Initial 3-month contract with potential extension up to 6 months Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & HR Advisory Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters Conduct workplace investigations and assist with issue resolution Coach leaders on performance management, policy interpretation, and employee concerns Support initiatives that promote a positive and productive workplace culture Health & Safety Administration & Governance Support occupational health and safety programs, policies, and compliance initiatives Review existing health and safety processes and identify opportunities for improvement Assist with governance, reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements Maintain workplace safety documentation and support safety program initiatives Policy, Compliance & Process Improvement Review and enhance HR policies, procedures, and practices Identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements Develop, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Support continuous improvement initiatives across HR operations HR Operations & Organizational Support Assist with day-to-day HR operations and strategic priorities Partner with leadership to improve HR processes, efficiency, and employee experience Support workforce planning and retention initiatives Help address organizational challenges related to engagement and employee turnover Payroll & Administrative Support Provide oversight and support for payroll processes as required Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure HR administrative processes remain accurate, effective, and compliant Qualifications Required Qualifications 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience Strong experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, HR Manager, or similar HR leadership role Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices Experience developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and SOPs Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong Assets Experience with health & safety administration, governance, and compliance Experience supporting multiple provinces across Canada Exposure to global HR environments or multinational organizations Payroll knowledge and oversight experience Bilingual English/French communication skills Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is: Hands-on and comfortable rolling up their sleeves Highly organized with strong attention to detail Calm, professional, and solutions-oriented Proactive with strong communication and follow-through Adaptable and comfortable working in evolving environments Resourceful, accountable, and focused on continuous improvement Why Consider This Opportunity?
