eFairJob, the first virtual Canadian job fair

First there were business meetings on Second Life, and now there is the first Canadian virtual job fair. Launched by VoiceJob Inc will run from March 17 to 28, 2008. During those 12 days, employers and candidates will be able to meet on line 24/7. The principle is simple. The 3D interface allows job seekers to stroll the aisles of the fair as though they were there and to visit firms' virtual booths, in which job opportunities are posted. Interested visitors can submit their CV or even chat directly with the recruiters. Exhibitors Ubisoft, Bell Canada, CN, Bombardier, Desjardins, Domtar, IKEA, Investors Group, Canada Post, Sun Life, Vidéotron, Yves Rocher, Xerox and more have already reserved their virtual booths.

The job offers will only be online while the fair is being held. According to organizers, employers will be able to get many applications in a short period of time, in addition to recruiting across Canada while avoiding the associated travel. Exhibitors can reserve booth(s) in the province(s) of their choice. Candidates can target their job search locally using the geo tool. Registration is free for job seekers, while employers can sign up on the website.
