Job details

About BrainRidge Consulting BrainRidge Consulting is a premium FinTech Technology Consulting firm with the energy of a startup and the experience of an enterprise. With a mission to empower financial institutions and organizations to thrive in the digital age, we provide cutting-edge technology solutions and strategic guidance to drive innovation and growth. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and driven HR Manager to join our team. Position Summary We're looking for an HR Manager who thinks like a builder: someone who can spot a gap and come up with a genuinely new initiative to fix it, then bring the attention to detail to streamline the process and document it properly. You'll lead HR Operations for BrainRidge across all four offices: Toronto (HQ), New Brunswick (nearshore), and our remote teams in the US and India. You'll streamline core HR processes, lead a team of 2 HR Associates, and act as a trusted partner to the leadership team on HR strategy and workforce planning. You'll also own payroll and employee benefits, from payroll accuracy and compliance to provider negotiations, and lead employee engagement programming and run our Performance Enablement Program as a continuous cycle in Zoho People. This is a strong fit for a forward-thinking, agile problem-solver who enjoys fixing clunky processes and wants to bring more automation and AI-enabled tooling into day-to-day HR work. Key Responsibilities Own day-to-day HR Operations across all four offices: Toronto, New Brunswick, and our remote teams in the US and India. Streamline and standardize core HR processes: onboarding, offboarding, records management, leave administration, and internal HR requests. Manage bench and resourcing, partnering with Finance and Business Enablement to ensure staff have current, renewed Statements of Work (SOWs). Identify, propose, and lead new initiatives that build efficiency in the HR function, from process redesign to new tools. Strengthen and maintain accurate, audit-ready HR documentation and workflows across all locations, closing gaps as the firm grows. Manage, coach, and develop a team of 2 HR Associates, setting priorities and reviewing their work. Act as a trusted partner to the leadership team on HR strategy, workforce planning, and people decisions, and build strong working relationships with Finance, Business Enablement, and practice leads across locations. Oversee payroll processing and administration across Canada, the US, and India, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in each jurisdiction. Serve as the escalation point for payroll issues and ensure a smooth employee experience around pay. Own the employee benefits program, including leading negotiations and renewals with providers. Design and lead engagement initiatives for the Toronto, New Brunswick, and our remote teams in the US and India, with attention to parity between locations. Partner with leadership on culture-building programming, recognition, and communications that reach a multi-location workforce. Own the firm's Performance Enablement Program as a continuous, year-round cycle administered in Zoho People. Conduct management training sessions and employee information sessions on the program as needed. Monitor completion and quality of reviews, and flag gaps to leadership. Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to modernize HR service delivery and reduce manual work. Administer and get the most out of our Zoho suite tools (Zoho People and related applications) as part of our core HR systems. Qualifications 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience in an HR Operations or HR Manager capacity Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-jurisdiction payroll (Canada, US, and/or India). Experience supporting or managing HR across more than one office or region, ideally including a nearshore or offshore team. Experience administering employee benefits programs, including vendor negotiations. Strong process-improvement mindset, with a track record of simplifying or automating HR workflows. A creative, forward-thinking problem-solver, as comfortable proposing and building new initiatives as executing on the details behind them. Strong attention to detail, particularly with HR documentation, payroll, and compliance-sensitive work. Comfortable working in an agile, iterative way: piloting new processes, gathering feedback, and adjusting quickly rather than waiting for a perfect plan. Excellent judgment and discretion; comfortable managing sensitive employee information. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering directly with senior leadership. Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools applied to HR workflows. Experience with Zoho suite products (e.g., Zoho People) or comparable HRIS platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across time zones and locations. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field CHRP/CHRL or equivalent HR certification.
